Background of the Cold War

At the end of World War 2, the United States and the Soviet Union were the two superpowers of the World. All other countries destroyed, the United States and Soviet Union were the most powerful countries, too. There are many exact causes of the Cold War. When Russia feared America's atomic bomb and America refused to share their nuclear secrets, things started to get hot... or cold. In my opinion when Russia feared an American attack and America feared a communist attack, they were afraid of fighting each other directly. This is how the Cold War began.
